Harvesting Swiss Chard

That I know of, i've never eaten Swiss Chard. When my wife bought some vegetable plants to integrate with her flowers, I figured I would give it a shot. After about a couple of months, the chard has gotten about 16 inches tall so I decided to harvest it.

I then cut the leaves off of the stalks. We decided on pork chops for supper so I figured i'd cook up the chard. I found a recipe off of pinterest for baked pork chops and chard. Basically, you toss the chard in some olive oil, salt, and pepper. I did so and placed it in a cast iron skillet. I then placed two of the chops on the chard and sprinkled Parmesan around the chops.

I took the other two (my wife's) and placed them on a separate baking disk but I did place the stalks around the chops to roast them. I didn't want to ruin her supper just in case.

The end result...it wasn't terrible. I think i'll have to keep trying different recipes. The picture above didn't make much at all either. I'll try something different when it's time for harvesting it again.
